Whiskey

Whiskey — bourbon, scotch, rye, or Irish — follows the same rules as all alcohol. One standard drink is 1.5oz at 40% ABV. Sip it slowly after a nursing session and give yourself at least 2 hours before the next one.

1 standard drink (1.5oz at 40% ABV); watch for higher-ABV expressions; wait 2+ hours before nursing
Whiskey typically ranges from 40–50% ABV. At higher ABVs (cask-strength whiskeys can be 55–65%), a 1.5oz pour contains even more alcohol, so the time-to-clear extends accordingly. Barrel-aged spirits contain more congeners than clear spirits but this doesn't change the fundamental clearance math — only the amount of alcohol matters. Enjoy your dram, just time it thoughtfully.
