Vitamin C Supplement

Vitamin C supplements are safe during breastfeeding. It's an antioxidant that supports immune function, and modest amounts are transferred to your baby through milk.

Under 2000mg/day
Vitamin C is water-soluble and safe at recommended doses. Breastfeeding women need 120mg/day. Excess vitamin C is excreted in urine. Very high doses (over 2000mg/day) may cause GI issues in mom. Standard doses from supplements or food are completely safe. Vitamin C also enhances iron absorption when taken together.
