Turmeric

Turmeric is safe in culinary amounts and is a wonderful anti-inflammatory spice. High-dose curcumin supplements haven't been well studied in breastfeeding.

Culinary turmeric is generally recognized as safe during breastfeeding. The active compound curcumin has potent anti-inflammatory effects. Tiny amounts pass into breast milk. High-dose curcumin supplements (as used for therapeutic purposes) are not well studied in breastfeeding women, so stick to culinary use unless you've discussed supplements with your provider.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
