Atlantic Tilefish

Atlantic tilefish has moderate mercury and is in the FDA's 'good choice' category — unlike its Gulf cousin, which should be avoided entirely. Limit to one serving a week.

1 serving (4oz) per week
There are two distinct tilefish entries in the FDA guidance: Gulf tilefish (avoid) and Atlantic tilefish (good choice). Atlantic tilefish has moderate mercury and is safe for nursing mothers at one serving (4oz) per week. Don't confuse it with Gulf of Mexico tilefish, which has much higher mercury and should be avoided.
