Sunscreen (For Mom)

Wearing sunscreen is safe and recommended while breastfeeding. Mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) sit on top of the skin and are not absorbed — they're the safest option. Chemical sunscreens are absorbed in small amounts, but the levels in breast milk are very low. Either way, sun protection is important. Just avoid applying sunscreen directly on the breast or nipple area before nursing.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
