Spring Rolls

Spring rolls are safe while breastfeeding, whether fresh (wrapped in rice paper) or fried. A tasty appetizer or side dish with no breastfeeding-specific concerns.

Fresh (unfried) spring rolls filled with rice vermicelli, vegetables, shrimp, or tofu are a nutritious, light choice. Fried spring rolls are higher in calories and oil, but still safe. Dipping sauces are typically soy- or peanut-based — both fine for most breastfeeding moms.
