Soy Lecithin

Soy lecithin is a common emulsifier found in chocolate, baked goods, and many packaged foods. It is safe to consume while breastfeeding. Importantly, soy lecithin is highly processed and contains minimal soy protein — making it generally tolerated even by those with soy allergies. Sunflower lecithin is also safe and is actually sometimes recommended to breastfeeding mothers to help prevent plugged ducts.

📈Lecithin (especially sunflower lecithin) is sometimes recommended to help prevent or relieve recurring plugged ducts by making milk less sticky.
