Rum

Rum, like all distilled spirits, follows the same breastfeeding guidelines. One standard drink is 1.5oz at 40% ABV, and you should wait at least 2 hours before nursing. Enjoy it in a cocktail or on its own — just time it right.

1 standard drink (1.5oz at ~40% ABV); note overproof varieties require longer clearance time; wait 2+ hours before nursing
Rum ranges widely in ABV — white rums are typically 40%, while some aged rums or overproof varieties can be 50–75%+. Overproof rum (like 151) in cocktails means a single 'shot' may actually be 2+ standard drinks. Mixed rum drinks like mojitos or daiquiris are popular and often made with a full 2oz of rum. When in doubt about how much alcohol is in your drink, give yourself extra time before the next feed.
