Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary essential oil has stimulating properties and is generally used in diluted amounts for aromatherapy and scalp care. It warrants caution while breastfeeding — it should not be used near infants, and high concentrations are not recommended for nursing mothers due to its camphor content and stimulating properties.

Rosemary essential oil contains camphor, which is dangerous to infants if inhaled or applied topically. Avoid diffusing rosemary in rooms where your baby is present. Topical use by the mother (diluted, on non-breast areas, away from baby) is likely low risk in small amounts. Avoid therapeutic or high-dose applications.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
