Parsley (Large Amounts)

Parsley is totally fine as a garnish or in cooking, but large amounts — like parsley tea or concentrated supplements — are traditionally associated with reducing milk supply.

📉Culinary amounts are fine. Large amounts or concentrated forms may reduce supply.
Parsley contains apiol, which in large doses has anti-galactagogue properties. A sprig on your plate or a handful in a salad is not a concern. Parsley tea, parsley juice, or high-dose parsley supplements used for other purposes (like UTI support) could potentially impact supply with consistent use. This is mostly traditional knowledge; formal studies are lacking.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
