Moringa
Moringa is a nutrient-dense plant widely used as a galactagogue in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. Preliminary evidence is promising, though large clinical trials are limited.
📈Promising evidence for increasing milk supply, particularly in early postpartum.
Moringa leaves are high in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Several studies from the Philippines show it can increase milk volume in the early postpartum period. It's generally considered safe in food amounts. Supplement doses are less studied. Avoid moringa root or bark preparations — those have different compounds not studied for safety in breastfeeding.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
