Margarita
A standard restaurant margarita typically contains 2oz of tequila plus triple sec — that's often 1.5–2 standard drinks in one glass. Factor in that extra alcohol when timing your next feeding. A single margarita may need a 3–4 hour wait.
Calculate standard drinks (typically 1.5–2 per glass); wait 2+ hours per standard drink before nursing
A standard margarita uses about 2oz of tequila (1.3 standard drinks) plus 0.5–1oz of triple sec or Cointreau (another 0.5 standard drinks). Together, that's roughly 1.5–2 standard drinks per glass. At 2 hours per standard drink, one margarita may require 3–4 hours before nursing safely. Frozen margaritas from machines are often much larger and may contain even more alcohol. The skinny margarita (light on alcohol or using low-cal sweetener) doesn't necessarily mean less tequila — ask your bartender.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
