Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass essential oil should be used with caution while breastfeeding. It contains citral, which can cause skin sensitization. When diffused in a well-ventilated room away from your baby, it's generally fine. Avoid topical application near the breast area and always dilute heavily (1% or less) if applied to skin.

Lemongrass oil contains high levels of citral (up to 85%), which is a known skin sensitizer and potential irritant. It should never be applied undiluted to skin, especially on or near the breasts where your baby's mouth could come into contact. For diffusion, use in well-ventilated spaces and limit sessions to 30–60 minutes. Keep diffusers out of the baby's room.
