Instant Coffee

Instant coffee is a convenient and totally acceptable option while breastfeeding. It generally has a bit less caffeine than drip coffee — around 60–80mg per cup — making it easy to fit into your daily limit.

Up to 300mg caffeine/day total (~60–80mg per teaspoon of instant coffee)
The caffeine in instant coffee passes into breast milk just like any other coffee, but at these levels, moderate intake (2–3 cups) is well within the CDC's 300mg/day recommendation. Instant coffee is also often lower in some compounds (like cafestol) that can affect cholesterol, so it's a reasonable everyday option.
