Ibuprofen (Advil / Motrin)

Ibuprofen is one of the preferred pain relievers for breastfeeding moms. It's highly protein-bound so very little reaches your milk, making it exceptionally safe.

Less than 1% of the maternal ibuprofen dose transfers into breast milk. It's highly protein-bound and has a short half-life. The AAP and Infant Risk Center consider it a preferred NSAID during breastfeeding for both pain and inflammation. Safe for long-term use at recommended doses.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
