HSG (Hysterosalpingography)

An HSG test — where dye is injected to visualize the uterus and fallopian tubes — is safe while breastfeeding. The iodinated contrast used is water-soluble, very poorly absorbed from the uterine cavity, and even the small amount entering the bloodstream does not meaningfully concentrate in breast milk. No pumping and dumping is needed.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
