Hemp Seeds

Hemp seeds are safe and a nutritional powerhouse while breastfeeding! They're a complete protein source with an ideal omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, making them one of the best plant foods for nursing moms.

Hemp seeds (hemp hearts) contain about 10g of complete protein per 3-tablespoon serving, along with a healthy balance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, and zinc. They contain negligible levels of THC — far below any threshold that could affect breast milk. Hemp seeds are an entirely different product from marijuana and have no psychoactive effects.
