Hard Seltzer
Hard seltzers are typically around 5% ABV — the same as a standard beer. Apply the same rules: one can is one drink, and wait at least 2 hours before nursing. They're not inherently better or worse than other drinks at the same alcohol content.
1 standard drink (12oz at ~5% ABV); wait 2+ hours before nursing
A standard 12oz hard seltzer at 5% ABV is one standard drink, identical in alcohol content to a light beer. They clear from your system at the same rate. Some brands come in larger cans (16oz) or slightly higher ABV, so check the label. The low sugar content compared to other cocktails doesn't change the alcohol math. Occasional use following the timing guideline is consistent with AAP guidance.
