Garlic

Garlic is safe and won't make your baby gassy! Some studies have found that garlic flavor in breast milk can actually make babies nurse longer — they seem to like the taste.

Myth: Garlic does NOT cause gas in breastfed babies. Gas-producing compounds stay in your gut. The flavor change in milk is harmless and babies often enjoy it.

The gas-causing compounds in garlic don't pass into breast milk. What does transfer are small aromatic compounds that subtly flavor your milk. Research published in journals on infant behavior found that babies nursed more enthusiastically when their mothers had recently consumed garlic — suggesting they enjoy the flavor variety. Eat all the garlic you want!
