Fiber Supplement

Fiber supplements are safe during breastfeeding and can really help with postpartum constipation. They're not absorbed into the bloodstream, so nothing reaches your milk.

Fiber supplements (psyllium, methylcellulose, inulin) work locally in the GI tract and are not absorbed, so they have no effect on breast milk. Postpartum constipation is extremely common, especially after cesarean delivery or narcotic pain medication. Fiber supplements are a safe and effective first-line option. Drink plenty of water to prevent bloating.
