Eggs (Allergen Concern)

Eggs are safe to eat while breastfeeding for most moms. Egg allergy in infants through breast milk is uncommon, and there's no reason to avoid them unless your baby has a confirmed egg allergy.

Egg proteins can pass into breast milk in small quantities, but most infants handle this without any issues. Eggs are an excellent source of protein, choline, and vitamin D — all important for nursing moms. If your baby develops signs of an egg allergy (hives, eczema, GI symptoms), consult your pediatrician. Otherwise, enjoy your eggs!
