DHA / Omega-3

DHA is one of the best supplements you can take while breastfeeding. It passes into breast milk and directly supports your baby's brain and eye development.

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid critical for infant brain and retinal development. The amount in your milk directly reflects your intake. The WHO recommends 200–300mg DHA/day during breastfeeding. Fish oil and algae-based DHA (vegan option) are both safe and effective. Algae-based DHA avoids any mercury concerns associated with fish.

Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
