Chest X-Ray

A chest X-ray is completely safe while breastfeeding. Like all X-rays, radiation passes through your body in an instant and does not remain in or alter your breast milk. No pumping and dumping is needed. If a chest X-ray is medically indicated, there is no reason to delay or avoid it.

Myth: "I should wait to breastfeed after a chest X-ray." False — X-rays are radiation, not drugs. They cannot contaminate breast milk. There is no waiting period.
