Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne is safe while breastfeeding. Despite the myth, spicy food doesn't make breast milk spicy or upset your baby's stomach.

Capsaicin, the compound that makes cayenne hot, does not transfer meaningfully into breast milk. Multiple studies and large population samples confirm that spicy food is safe during breastfeeding and does not cause infant colic or fussiness. Enjoy your spicy food!
