Carpaccio
Carpaccio is safe while breastfeeding! The raw beef restriction during pregnancy was to protect the fetus from foodborne illness — once you're nursing, that restriction doesn't apply.
Myth: Raw meat restrictions apply during pregnancy to protect the fetus. Foodborne pathogens do not transfer through breast milk, making carpaccio safe while breastfeeding.
Carpaccio is thin-sliced raw or very rare beef (or fish) served as an appetizer. During pregnancy, raw meat carries risks that could harm a fetus. But breastfeeding is different — foodborne pathogens from raw meat do not pass through breast milk. If you get sick, it's unpleasant for you, but your baby won't be harmed through your milk.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
