Camphor
Camphor must not be used around infants. It is rapidly absorbed through skin and mucous membranes and can cause seizures and respiratory failure in babies at very low doses. Do not apply any product containing camphor if you will be near your infant.
Camphor is one of the most dangerous compounds to infants in the essential oil world. It is found in some chest rubs, liniments, and camphored oils. Infants have been poisoned by camphor applied to a caregiver's skin before holding. As a breastfeeding mother, avoid camphor-containing products entirely while your baby is young. If you use them for your own body, keep them completely away from any surface your baby will contact.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
