Cabbage
Cabbage will not make your baby gassy — eat it freely! The gas-causing compounds in cabbage don't pass through breast milk. Cabbage is nutritious and worth keeping in your diet.
Myth: Cabbage does NOT cause gas in breastfed babies. The gas-producing compounds stay in your digestive system and don't transfer to breast milk.
Like broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, the oligosaccharides in cabbage that cause gas are digested in your gut and never reach your milk. Your baby can't inherit your gas from eating cabbage. Interestingly, cold cabbage leaves are actually used to relieve engorgement — but eating cabbage won't affect your milk supply either.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
