Blue Cheese

Blue cheese is back on the menu while breastfeeding! It was restricted during pregnancy, but that concern doesn't apply once your baby is born.

Myth: Blue cheese restriction is pregnancy-specific only. It's safe for breastfeeding moms.

Blue cheeses like Roquefort, Stilton, and Gorgonzola were avoided during pregnancy because of Listeria risk. After delivery, the Listeria concern doesn't extend to breastfeeding — these bacteria don't pass through breast milk. Enjoy your blue cheese dressing, crumbled blue on your salad, or on a cheese board.
