Antipasto

Antipasto platters are safe while breastfeeding! The cured meats and soft cheeses that were restricted during pregnancy are fine once you're nursing.

Myth: Cured meats and soft cheeses on an antipasto platter were restricted during pregnancy due to listeria. This restriction doesn't apply while breastfeeding.

Antipasto typically includes cured meats (prosciutto, salami), olives, pickled vegetables, fresh or aged cheeses, and marinated artichokes. All of these are breastfeeding-safe. The pregnancy restrictions on cured meats and soft cheeses were about listeria risk to the fetus — listeria doesn't pass through breast milk. Enjoy the full board.
