Vitamin B6 / Doxylamine (Diclegis / Bonjesta)
The B6/doxylamine combination (used for pregnancy nausea) is sometimes continued postpartum. The B6 component is safe; the doxylamine component can sedate your baby. Discuss with your provider.
Vitamin B6 is safe during breastfeeding. Doxylamine carries the same antihistamine cautions as other first-generation antihistamines (infant sedation, possible supply reduction). If nausea persists postpartum (common), discuss with your provider whether continuing this combination or switching to another anti-nausea approach is best. B6 alone (25mg) can be tried first for mild nausea.
Always confirm with your doctor or lactation consultant before making dietary changes while breastfeeding.
