Acesulfame-K (Ace-K)

Acesulfame-K (acesulfame potassium) is a calorie-free sweetener found in many diet beverages and processed foods. It does pass into breast milk in small amounts — one study found measurable levels — but current evidence does not suggest harm to nursing infants at normal dietary intake. It's approved by the FDA and considered safe while breastfeeding.
